India Reports 11,067 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Crosses 10.85 Million Cases

On the 10th of February, the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases surged 10.85 million in India. 

India’s tally of cases of the COVID-19 disease stands at 10,858,371 including 11,067 cases reported in the past 24 hours.

In addition to 11,067 new COVID-19 cases, 94 people died from the deadly virus.

The Union Health Ministry confirmed the updated figure through a media release.

According to the updated data, as on the 11th of February, India has 10,858,371 positive cases, of which 1,05,61,608 are recovered/discharged cases, 1,41,511 active cases and 1,55,252 deceased cases. 

With this, the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 recovery rate is 97.27 %, fatality rate at 1.43% and active case load rate at 1.30 %.

In addition, the global tally of the Novel Coronavirus cases is 107 millions with more than 2.3 million deaths.

Meanwhile, India is also the only Nation to conduct a mega COVID-19 vaccination drive.

India is the home to the largest vaccine drive for the Novel Coronavirus with two India made vaccines.

One is the Serum Institute of India (SII) manufactured Covisheild and the other one is the Hyderabad based Bharat Biotech International Private Limited made COVAXIN.

According to the latest report by the Union Health Ministry, more than 6.2 million people were given COVID-19 vaccine doses.

The drive started from the 16th of January in a phased manner so far administered 6.2 million healthcare workers and targets more than 30 million workers in the first phase.

India is going to vaccinate every citizen of India, which is close to 133 crore people in coming months.
