India Reports 38,310 New COVID-19 Cases, Recoveries Over 90 %

The number of new Novel Coronavirus cases reported in India in a span of 24 hours dropped below 40,000.

With this the country’s COVID-19 tally to 82.67 lakh, while the total recoveries crossed the 76 lakh mark, according to the Union Health Ministry’s data updated on the 3rd of November.

India’s COVID-19 caseload reached a total of 82,67,623 with 38,310 fresh infections, while the death toll reached 1,23,097 after 490 new fatalities were reported, the data updated.

The updated date is available on the official website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)

According to the Union Health Ministry a total of 76,03,121 people recovered/discharged pushing the national recovery rate to 91.96 % while the case fatality rate decreased to 1.49 %.

The number of active cases remained below six lakh for the fifth consecutive day.

According to the MoHFW website, there are 5,41,405 active cases which is 6.55 % of the total caseload.

In addition, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR,) a cumulative total of 11,17,89,350 samples have been tested up so far with 10,46,247 samples being tested in the past 24 hours.

India’s COVID-19 tally crossed the 20-lakh mark on the 7th of August, 30 lakh on the 23rd of August and 40 lakh on the 5th of September.

It went past 50 lakh on the 16th of September, 60 lakh on the 28th of September, 70 lakh on the 11th of October and crossed 80 lakh on the 29th of October.
