Telangana COVID-19 Cases Cross 5,200 With 315 New Cases, Recovery Rate At 97.61 Percent

The Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19,) single day cases are fluctuating in Telangana.   After reporting below 300 cases on the 12th of September, the cases increased to 315, the next day.

On Monday evening, the 13th of September, Telangana reported 315  new cases with two deaths and 318 recoveries.  The Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin and updated about the COVID-19 situation in Telangana on Monday evening.  The new cases were confirmed after conducting 70,974 COVID-19 tests of samples, taking the cumulative total to 2.55 crores till date. 

With this, Telangana now has 6,61,866 positive cases, of which 5,253 are active cases, 6,52,716 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,897 are deceased.  

According to sources, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, areas of Rangareddy, Warangal and Karimnagar.  The GHMC reported the highest number of COVID-19 (75,)cases in the past 24 hours, followed by Karimnagar (28) and Khammam with 23 cases.  

It is to be noted, in the South Indian region, Telangana is the only state with low single day cases of the Wuhan virus.  Other states like Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, the COVID-19 situation is risky with a high number of cases.  

With the situation under control, the K. Chandrashekar Rao led Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is preparing for the possible third wave of the deadly virus. 

In addition, the recovery rate of Telangana remained at 98.61% for the second consecutive day and the fatality rate of COVID-19 remained constant for the past one month at 0.58 %. 

It is to be noted, of the total active cases, 79.90 % cases are asymptomatic, whereas, only 20.10 % are symptomatic.
