The Telangana Health Department confirmed 346 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
In the past 24 hours, Telangana reported 346 fresh cases, 2 fatalities and 397 recovered/discharged cases.
Of the 346 new cases, the highest 66 cases were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) followed by
41 from Rangareddy, 34 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 18 each from Karimnagar and Warangal Urban and 10 from Sangareddy.
The remaining cases were 9 each from Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mancherial, Nalgonda, Peddapalli, 8 each from Adilabad, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Nizamabad, Suryapet, 7 each from Mahabubnagar and Nirmal, 6 each from Warangal Rural, Vikarabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Komarambheem Asifabad, Jagtial, 5 each from Jangaon, Medak, Mulugu and Yadadri Bhongir, 4 from Wanaparthy, 3 each from Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Jogulamba Gadwal, Nagarkurnool and Siddipet, 2 from Kamareddy and 1 from Narayanpet.
In addition, the State Health Department conducted 38,905 tests for the COVID-19 infection, taking the cumulative total of tests till date to 71,84,598.
The aforementioned data was confirmed by the State Health Department through a media bulletin released everyday. The bulletin is being released regularly at 8:00 P.M., to update about the Novel Coronavirus infection in Telangana.
With this, Telangana has 2,89,135 positive cases, of which 2,82,572 are recovered/discharged cases, 5,000 are active cases and 1,561 are deceased cases.
In addition, Telangana has a recovery rate near to 98 % and fatality rate below 0.55 %.
Meanwhile, on the 8th of January, Telangana is conducting the vaccine dry run for the Novel Coronavirus in Nalgonda district.
