The Telangana Government, on the 5th of August, released fresh data regarding the availability of hospital beds for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 patients in the State.
According to the released data, Around 17,818 beds are vacant in private and government hospitals across Telangana
In government hospitals there are 5,858 vacant beds, while 2,569 beds are available in private hospitals.
There are a total of 17,081 beds available in both private and government hospitals of which 11,928 are isolation beds, 3,537 oxygen beds, 1,616 oxygen beds.
Beds in government and private teaching hospitals:
Isolation beds: 12, 284 (available) 665 (occupied) 11, 619 (vacant)
Oxygen Beds: 5861 (available) 1 539 (occupied) 4, 322 (vacant)
ICU beds: 2, 251 (available) 374 (occupied) 1877 (vacant)
Total: 20, 396 (available) 2, 578 (occupied) 17,818 (vacant)
Beds in Government Hospitals:
Regular isolation beds: 2522 (Total); 665 (Occupied); 1857 (Vacant)
Beds with Oxygen supply: 4663 (total); 1539 (Occupied); 3124 (vacant)
ICU beds with ventilators: 1251 (total); 374 (Occupied); 877 (vacant)
Total: 8436 (total); 2578 (occupied); 5858 (vacant)
Beds in private hospitals:
Regular isolation beds: 2770 (Total); 1541 (Occupied); 1229 (Vacant)
Beds with Oxygen supply: 2538 (total); 1722 (Occupied); 816 (vacant)
ICU beds with ventilators: 1313 (total); 789 (Occupied); 524 (vacant)
Total: 6621 (total); 4052 (occupied); 2569 (vacant)
The total number of beds increased with a recent launch of a hospital in Siddipet with 100 beds for the Novel Coronavirus.
T. Harish Rao, the Finance Minister of Telangana, launched hospitals for COVID-19 patients in Sangareddy and Siddipet.
With this number of positive cases in the State increased to 70,958, 19,568 are active cases, 50,184 are recovered/discharged cases and 576 deceased.
