The State Government led by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) issued an order to promote students of class I to class IX, without conducting examination.

Om the 26th of April, the State Government released a statement regarding the same. The order read, “The Government, after careful examination of the matter and keeping in view of the hardship caused due to the Covid-19 pandemic, hereby accord permission to the Director of School Education (FAC), Telangana, Hyderabad, to promote all students of classes 1 to 9 studying in government, aided, and private unaided schools during the academic year 2020-21 to next higher classes in the academic year 2021-22.”

Earlier, Education Minister P. Sabitha Indra Reddy had announced that there was no detention system for classes 1 to 9 in the State, that there was no need for the conduct of exams and that all students would be promoted to the next higher class as part of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.  The decision was taken to control the Novel Coronavirus and avoid lakhs of students getting infected of the deadly virus. 

The Director of the School Education has been instructed to take necessary action in the matter. 

Meanwhile, on the 26th of April, the State Government has already declared summer holidays for schools and junior colleges across the State from the 27th of April till the 31st of May.
