The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government in Telangana decided to vaccinate 3 lakh people everyday against the deadly Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)

In order to be prepared for the possible third wave of the Novel Coronavirus, the TRS Government urged people to understand the situation and get their vaccine doses. In regard to this, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, launched special vaccination drives, to cover 1.38 crore people, who are yet to get their first dose of anti COVID-19 vaccine.

On the 13th of September, the TRS Government asked the concerned official and medical department of the State, to ensure vaccine doses to remaining people and carry out the special drives. Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao said, the production of the COVID-19 vaccine has increased compared to previous time, therefore the State Medical department should also enhance the vaccine doses given to the citizens of Telangana.

The Telangana Chief Minister said, although the COVID-19 pandemic situation is under control, they should carry out the special drive, ensuring everyone in the State are vaccinated ro avoid future troubles.

According to the State Government’s official data, there are 2.80 crore people above the age of 18 eligible for vaccination in the state. Of the total, so far 1.42 crore people have received their first dose, while 53 lakh have been fully vaccinated and 1.38 crore others are yet to be inoculated.

With the directions of the TRS President Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, gram sarpanches, ward members, gram secretaries and other concerned officials in each district would be given the responsibility of these special vaccine drives.

Meanwhile, at the State level, Mr. Somesh Kumar, the Chief Secretary of Telangana, would be supervising these drives and would coordinate with the district and village level officials. The Chief Minister also directed officials and other public representatives to take measures to provide food and other facilities to the vaccination staff. He instructed the officials concerned to utilise schools, colleges, Rythu Vedikas and other government and private buildings as the vaccination centres and set up tents to conduct vaccination camps.

The aforementioned discussions were held during a high level meeting on the 12th of September. The meeting was chaired by Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, with the participation of the concerned officials of the Telangana Health Department, Mr. Somesh Kumar and other officials of the TRS.

Meanwhile, with the constant efforts of the State Government, the Telugu State has below 6,000 active cases and 300 single day spikes in the Wuhan virus.

In the past 24 hours, the State reported 249 new cases, taking the total active cases to 5,258. In addition, the recovery rate is also better at 97.61 % and the fatality rate is at 0.58 %
