The Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus, is continuously under check with every day reported numbering below 400 cases.
On Monday evening, the 6th of September, Telangana reported 301 new cases with two deaths and 339 recoveries. On the evening of the 6th of September, the Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin and updated about the COVID-19 situation in Telangana. The new cases were confirmed after conducting 67,720 COVID-19 tests of samples, taking the cumulative total to 2.50 crores till date.
With this, Telangana now has 6,59,844 positive cases, of which 5,545 are active cases, 6,50,453 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,886 are deceased.
According to sources, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, areas of Rangareddy, Warangal and Karimnagar. The GHMC reported the highest number of COVID-19 (70,)cases in the past 24 hours, followed by Karimnagar with 31 cases.
It is to be noted, in the South Indian region, Telangana is the only state with low single day cases of the Wuhan virus. Other states like Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, the COVID-19 situation is risky with a high number of cases. However, with the efforts of the Telangana Government and constant review meetings, the COVID-19 situation in the State is said to be under control. The K. Chandrashekar Rao led Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) controlled the second wave and now is preparing for the possible third wave of the deadly virus.
In addition, the recovery rate of Telangana remained constant to 98.57% and the fatality rate of COVID-19 remained constant for the past 20 days at 0.58 %.
It is to be noted, of the total active cases, 79.90 % cases are asymptomatic, whereas, only 20.10 % are symptomatic.
