After reporting below 2,000 cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as COVID-19 cases, in the past few days, the Telugu State of Telangana reported over 2,000 cases on the 12th of January.
On Wednesday, the Telangana Health Department confirmed 2,319 new cases of the Wuhan virus. On the evening of Wednesday, the department released a health bulletin and confirmed 2,319 new cases, 2 fatalities and 474 recoveries from the deadly virus. The new figures of the Wuhan virus were confirmed after the State Health Department conducted 90,021 tests for COVID-19. Of the total tests conducted, 2,319 tested positive, higher than Tuesday’s 1,920 new cases and results of 11,217 people are awaited. So far, a total of 3,03,67,759 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the State.
In addition, of the total cases, the highest number of Wuhan virus cases were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) with 1,275 positive infections. Besides GHMC, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Rangareddy districts also reported 234 and 173 cases, respectively.
With this, Telangana has 7,00,094 positive cases, of which 6,77,708 recovered/discharged, 18,339 are active cases and 4,047 are deceased cases, till date.
On the other hand, not only Wuhan virus cases, but its new variant Omicron is also rapidly rising in the Telugu State.
