Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19. 

On the 14th of April, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister took to his official Twitter handle and said, “On showing the initial symptoms, I got my COVID-19 test done and my report has come positive. I am in self-isolation and fully following the consultation of physicians. I am doing all (the) tasks virtually.”

Mr. Yogi Adityanath said, “शुरुआती लक्षण दिखने पर मैंने कोविड की जांच कराई और मेरी रिपोर्ट पॉजिटिव आई है। 

मैं सेल्फ आइसोलेशन में हूं और चिकित्सकों के परामर्श का पूर्णतः पालन कर रहा हूं। सभी कार्य वर्चुअली संपादित कर रहा हूं।”

Yogi Adityanath was in self isolation since the 13th of April, after some of his office people tested positive for the virus. Later, he took the COVID-19 test and was tested positive on the 14th of April, after the reports came. However, he is stable and is currently under home isolation.  

Mr. Yogi Adityanath also said he would dispense all his Chief Ministerial duties virtually. He has attended two virtual meetings after testing COVID-19 positive.

Authorities at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) and King George’s Medical University (KGMU) have also been kept on alert for any medical help to the U.P. CM. In addition, a medical team have also been formed in case of any medical emergency.

Following the news, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma prayed for the quick recovery of Yogi Adityanath.

The CM recently visited West Bengal, campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the West Bengal Assembly elections 2021.

Meanwhile, highlighting the Novel Coronavirus cases situation in Uttar Pradesh, with the highest ever single day spike of 18,021 cases and 85 deaths, the State has 7,23,582 total cases.
