Reema Lagoo, the veteran actress and popular face on TV passed away at early hours of Thursday due to cardiac arrest. The actress acted in famous TV shows like ‘Sriman Srimati’ and the much famous ‘Tu Tu Main Main’. The actress was 59 and passed away at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital.
According to Ram Narain, the Executive Director of the hospital, she was admitted to the hospital late night on Wednesday after complaining of chest pain. He said, “We will issue a health report later in the day, after consulting with her family.” Vinay Waikul, Lagoo’s son-in-law, said that “She was absolutely fine but around 1 AM she complained to us of chest pain so we took her to the hospital. However, around 3:15 am she passed away due to a cardiac arrest.”
Her last rites will be performed at the Oshiwara crematorium at 2 PM today. Lagoo did many shows and movies in her long career. Survived by her daughter Mrunmayee, the actress had a career of 40 long years. The last television show that the actress appeared on screen was in ‘Naamkaran’ on Star Plus.
The actress was seen in cult classic, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Judwaa, Prem Granth, Rangeela, Vaastav and Kal Ho Naa Ho to name a few.
