Ajith Kumar, a popular Tamil actor, on the 21st of January, put a full stop to all the rumours regarding him joining the politics.

Recently, some of the fan clubs of Mr. Kumar spread false rumours about Kumar entering politics and joining hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

However, Ajith Kumar issued a statement in which he denied all such reports. He stated, “Despite this clear decision of mine, there are certain news updates linking me and my fans with some political organisations. Such baseless news during the current time period leading up to elections, would send out wrong signals that I have political aspirations.” The statement further read, “I have my own likes and dislikes when it comes to politics. I have neither imposed my political views on anyone nor have I allowed anyone to impose theirs on mine. I have never liked my photographs or name to be associated with any political event.”

Speaking about his political interests, Ajith Kumar said, “My participation in politics is restricted to standing in line during elections to vote. I will never ask my fans to support a particular political party or urge them to vote for a particular political party. I will not do so in future as well.”

Kumar concluded his letter by wishing for the good health of his fans and requested them to “live and let live.”

Since the 20th of January, social media platforms were flooded with speculations about Ajith Kumar joining politics.

Recently, celebrities like Kamal Haasan, Prakash Raj and Rajinikanth entered the world of politics and are expected to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
