Salman Khan will spend another night in the Jodhpur jail after the Court said it would continue the bail hearing tomorrow. The Court decided to continue the hearing on Saturday at 10:30 A.M.
According to sources, the arguments at the bail hearing were brief. Salman Khan’s lawyer Mahesh Bora said, “The case has been argued. It has been posted for tomorrow. We argued that the circumstances relied upon by the trial court were already discarded by the Rajasthan High Court.”
The defense counsel argued there were discrepancies in the key witnesses’ statements. The public prosecutor demanded the defense bring forth these documents to base their claims. The Judge sided with the prosecutors and asked Khan’s lawyers to submit the relevant documents on Saturday.
Yesterday, Salman Khan has been sentenced to five years imprisonment in connection with the Black Buck poaching case. The Jodhpur Court termed Salman a “habitual offender” giving him a sentence of five years. His co stars Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam have been acquitted. The four actors were also accused in the case but acquitted for lack of evidence. Salman was taken to the Jodhpur Central Jail where he spent the night.
According to Salman’s defense, the prosecutors fabricated evidence but the verdict says quite the opposite. This is not the first time Khan has got into trouble with the law. He was the prime accused in a hit and run case that killed one man. In 2015, he was cleared in the 2002 hit and run case due to a lack of evidence.
