Senior actor of the Telugu film industry, Jaya Prakash Reddy passed away on the 8th of September.
Mr. Reddy died at the age of 74 due to a heart attack, at his residence in Guntur.
According to the sources, on the morning of the 8th of September, Jaya Prakash Reddy collapsed in his washroom following a heart stroke. He was later declared dead by a doctor.
Mr. Jaya Prakash Reddy was in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, since the first lockdown was imposed due to the Novel Coronavirus.
Born in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, Jaya Prakash Reddy entered Tollywood in 1988 with the film Brahma Puthrudu (1988.)
Later in 1997, Preminchukundam Raa gave recognition to Jaya Prakash Reddy.
However, Mr. Reddy started his journey of fame after Samarasimha Reddy, released in 1999.
He also became well known for his self deprecating roles as a villain, comedian and character artist.
Jaya Prakash Reddy was fondly called JP and acted in a film Jayam Manade Raa (2,000.) In this film, Jaya Prakash Reddy played his first negative character named Narasimha Naidu.
Jaya Prakash Reddy worked in more than a 100 Telugu films till date.
N. Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) condoled the death of Jaya Prakash Reddy.
Mr. Naidu said, “Telugu cinema and theatre has lost a gem today with the demise of Jayaprakash Reddy Garu. His versatile performances over several decades have given us many a memorable cinematic moments. My heart goes out to his family and friends in this hour of grief. #JayaPrakashReddy.”
Other celebrities like Rakul Preet Singh, Sudhir Babu, Gopichand Malineni, Mahesh S. Koneru also took to Twitter and expressed their condolences to Jaya Prakash Reddy’s family.
