SP Balasubrahmanyam’s Last Rites To Be Held On September 26

The final rites of veteran singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam would be held on the evening of the 26th of September.

On the 25th of September, legendary singer of Tollywood, Kollywood and Bollywood Mr. Balasubrahmanyam passed away. 

Mr. Balasubrahmanyam 74, passed away at 1:04 P.M., at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Healthcare Hospital, Chennai. 

Mr. Balasubrahmanyam was hospitalised after testing positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) on the 5th of August.  Though he was tested negative on the 9th of September, he was critical and on life support. 

A team of multi specialist doctors were observing S.P. Balasubrahmanyam. 

After several days at hospital and treatment, S.P. Balasubrahmanyam took his last breath on the 25th of September. 

After the news of his demise broke out, Twitter was flooded with condolence messages from celebrities and fans. 

Bollywood actor Salman Khan took to Twitter and expressed his condolences to the family of Mr. Balasubrahmanyam. 

Taking to his official Twitter handle, Mr. Khan said, “Bala Subramaniam sir . All the strength hope wishes from the bottom of my heart to a speedy recovery n thank u for every song u sang fr me n made special your dil dewana hero prem, Love u sir.”

Prime  Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his condolences and said, “With the unfortunate demise of Shri SP Balasubrahmanyam, our cultural world is a lot poorer. A household name across India, his melodious voice and music enthralled audiences for decades. In this hour of grief, my thoughts are with his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”

Singer and actor Dhanush said, “Rip SPB sir 💔💔the voice which will echo in everyone’s house forever, a family member in every household. Ur voice and U will continue to live with us for generations to come. My condolences to his family and dear ones. Thank you sir for everything sir. you will be dearly missed.”

President of India Ram Nath Kovind also expressed grief and said, “In the passing of music legend SP Balasubrahmanyam Indian music has lost one of its most melodious voices. Called ‘Paadum Nila’ or ‘Singing Moon’ by his countless fans, he was honoured with Padma Bhushan and many National Awards. Condolences to his family, friends and admirers.”

Ram Charan said, “I am shocked to learn that our ever smiling SPB garu is no more. This loss to our fraternity is unimaginable. My deepest condolences to his entire family.”

Mr. Balasubrahmanyam is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter, both are playback singers. 

The final rites of S.P. Balasubrahmanyam are scheduled to be held on the evening of the 26th of September.
