On the 11th of October, a day after the Movie Artist Association (MAA) election 2021, Mr. Prakash Raj, a contender for the MAA President resigned from MAA membership.
On Monday morning, the Tollywood star Mr. Prakash Raj announced his resignation and is expected to submit the letter to the association by today afternoon.
He addressed the media and said, he came to Tollywood entertainment industry as an outsider and would remain as an outsider. He felt that not being born in Telugu state is his misfortune for losing the MAA election against Tollywood star Mr. Manchu Vishnu.
With this, Mr. Prakash Raj ended his 21 years journey with the MAA and bid a goodbye to the association.
Concluding the media interaction, Mr. Prakash Raj said, the decision to resign from the MAA membership is his own and not influenced by anyone else.
It is to be noted, Mr. Prakash Raj announced his resignation hours after Mr. Naga Babu, a Tollywood star and a member of the MAA submitted his resignation.
Mr. Naga Babu took to his Facebook handle and posted about his resignation. He said, “Hearty Congratulations to the new President of MAA @iVishnuManchu. Exec.Vice President @actorsrikanth & each and every winner of the New Body of our MAA family #movieartistsassociation.” He further said, “Movie Artists Association is filled with regional feelings and narrow-mindedness. I do not want to continue with an association like this. I am submitting my resignation to my primary membership at the MAA association, goodbye.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Manchu Vishnu has now become the new MAA President after winning the 2021 election against Mr. Prakash Raj. The MAA 2021 election was held on the 10th of October and the results were announced on the same night.
