AP Assembly Elections – PVP Joins YSRCP

Potluri Vara Prasad (PVP,) a prominent industrialist and producer, on the 13th of March, joined the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)

The decision came after PVP met Jagan Mohan Reddy, the President of the YSRCP, at the latter’s residence in Hyderabad, on the 13th of March.

Thota Narasimham, a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) member, and his wife, Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, a Member of Legislative Council, were also present during the meeting.

An official announcement regarding PVP becoming a YSRCP member was made around 10:00 A.M., on the 13th of March.

According to sources, it is expected, PVP will get a Member of Parliament (MP) ticket to contest the upcoming Andhra Pradesh (AP) Assembly elections in the Vijayawada constituency.

After comedian Ali, the YSRCP has one more prominent leader to fight against the opposition parties, the JanaSena Party and the TDP.

The YSRCP gaining a new member could be threatening for the TDP, the ruling Government of Andhra Pradesh, ahead of the State Assembly elections.

Andhra Pradesh will contest a total of 175 seats in the upcoming Assembly elections, scheduled on the 11th of April 2019.

The major parties contesting the AP Assembly elections are the JanaSena Party, the TDP and the YSRCP.

The results of the elections will be declared on the 23rd of May.
