Tammareddy Bharadwaj, Tollywood producer and director in a recent interview questioned AP Government and the NDA Government to explain the difference between Special Package and Special Status for the State of Andhra Pradesh.
Bharadwaj, from the point of view of a common man expressed his confusion with the terms ‘special package’ and ‘special status’ comparing them to a live example in this video.
He also demanded the leaders to do Justice to A.P., people– who are facing huge financial crisis after AP Bifurcation. During the separation, Congress Party which was then the ruling party has promised special status to Andhra Pradesh. By the time, the new State was created Congress lost the national elections and B.J.P., came into power.
After a long wait, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced a special financial package to Andhra Pradesh in September 2016.
Indian National Congress and YSR Congress Party Leaders declared a State wide bandh rejecting Arun Jaitley‘s special package demanding special status to AP. They even protested in the Assembly during Monsoon Sessions leading the House to adjourn many a time.
Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, chief of YSR Congress Party accused AP CM Chandrababu Naidu for compromising on the State’s issue and accepting BJP’s offer.
Pawan Kalyan, chief of Jana Sena Party who initially allied with the BJP and the TDP during the Elections, vociferously roared in public meetings held in Tirupati and Kakinada demanding Special Status to Andhra Pradesh. Though many of the politicians objected to his meetings, Pawan Kalyan‘s fans and followers made all his events successful.
Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu allied with B.J.P., during elections might have made him to remain silent on this issue.
