Cyclone Ockhi turned into a depression and weakened in the Arabian Sea before it could make landfall on India’s Western Coast. The Indian Meteorological Department reported Cyclone Ockhi was finally over.
Although, the cyclone has weakened places in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh will receive light to moderate rainfall till the 6th of December. The areas to experience rain in Gujarat are Surat, Valsad, Bharuch, Tapi, Daman, Diu, Dadra, Navsari, Dang, Amreli and Nagar Haveli districts.
The North of Gujarat and parts of Madhya Pradesh will experience rains till late afternoon today. In Maharashtra, Thane, Raigarh, Palghar, Dhule, Nandurbar, Nashik, Ahmednagar, Pune, Jalgaon and Greater Mumbai will have light to moderate showers.
Cyclone Ockhi left a trail of destruction as it passed by Tamil Nadu and then between Kerala and Lakshadweep. Due to unfavorable environmental conditions, Ockhi fizzled out before it could reach Gujarat.
