INC Ministers Resign To Save Karnataka Government

Ministers of the Indian National Congress (INC,) on the 8th of July, submitted their resignations to Siddaramaiah, the legislative leader of the INC.

The step was taken to save the Government of Karnataka, the Janata Dal (Secular) (JD[S.]) On the 6th of July, approximately 13 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) of the JD(S) resigned due to internal disputes.

K.C. Venugopal, the State in charge of the INC, said, “All our 22 ministers have submitted their resignation letters to Siddaramaiah to make way for the rebel legislators and save the coalition government.”

Apart from the INC Ministers, independent candidate Nagesh, a businessman, also resigned from the JD(S) and submitted his resignation to Vijubhai Vala, the Governor of Karnataka.

Although the resignation letters written in Kannada were submitted to Siddaramaiah, they have not been accepted yet.

K.R. Ramesh Kumar, the Speaker of the Karnataka Assembly, is responsible for accepting or rejecting the resignations.

After the INC ministers quit the Party, the 34 member Cabinet was reduced to a 12 member Cabinet.
