Mumbai: All the three accused, Indrani Mukherjea, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyam Rai in Sheena Bora murder case were remanded to the custody of police till September 5 by a magistrate court in Mumbai on Monday.
The custody of the accused ended today and they were produced in the court. The prime accused in the case, Indrani Mukherjea felt little dizzy during the hearing. Indrani’s daughter Vidhie Mukherjea was also present in the court and broke down during the hearing. She was allowed to meet her mother for a short span. The lawyers of Sanjeev and Indrani said that they should be given judicial custody as they already spent nearly 90 hours for interrogation.
The police applied the section 307 (attempt to murder) against the trio for an alleged plot to murder Mikhail Bora. The police also have to recover the passport of Sanjeev Khanna, search his office and trail of money in the murder conspiracy. The investigators also have to trace the place where the accused purchased petrol and match boxes to burn the body of Sheena Bora.
