Iran – 176 Killed In Plane Crash

Approximately 176 people were killed in a plane crash after the aircraft took off from Tehran, Iran.

The Ukraine International Airlines’ Boeing 737-800 crashed on the 8th of January with approximately 169 passengers and 7 crew members on board.

According to sources, the place crashed in Tehran during its take off due to some technical issues.

The aircraft, which belonged to Ukraine International Airlines, burned after the crash, killing all the passengers. A Ukrainian foreign ministry official confirmed the news.  However, there was no official word from Ukraine International Airlines.

Pirhossein Koulivand, the head of Iran’s emergency services, said, “The fire is so heavy that we cannot (do) any rescue… we have 22 ambulances, four bus ambulances and a helicopter at the site. ”

Though a technical issue is said to be the reason behind the crash, Ukraine International Airlines is still trying to ascertain the cause.  The plane was flying to Kiev, the capital of Ukraine.
