Four BSF officers were killed by Pakistani troops at the international border in Ramgarh sector in Jammu and Kashmir. The BSF Official reported the Pakistani troops breached the border ceasefire at around 10:30 P.M.

The Pakistani troops fired automatic weapons and threw mortar shells targeting the BSF outposts. An official stated, “The Pakistani troops and firing continued till 2 A.M. The border guards also returned the fire with similar caliber weapons.”

Officials reported the 4 deaths and informed the media three other officers were injured in the attack. The injured jawans were immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Assistant Commandant Jitender Singh, Sub Inspector Rajneesh and ASI Ram Nivas were among the officers who lost their lives. This was a major ceasefire violation by the Pakistani troops since June this year.

Last week, six terrorists were killed by the Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara District. The terrorists were trying to infiltrate into India when their attempts were foiled by the Army. This was the biggest infiltration attempt by terrorists in the last few months.

The Indian forces are inspecting the area to ensure no more terrorists are hiding in the forests. A total of 21 terrorists have been killed in the last two weeks in encounters in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Center had called for a ceasefire for the month of Ramzan but terrorist attacks have continued. The Home Minister acknowledged this and said the forces are free to carry out any operations against the terrorists.
