On the 7th of June, security forces shot four militants dead in an encounter in Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir.
The fight broke out after the militants opened fire on the security forces.
The security forces of Jammu and Kashmir started a search operation based on intelligence inputs about militants hiding in the Panjran area of Pulwama district.
According to Jammu and Kashmir Police officials, the deceased militants were a part of the terrorist group Jaish e Mohammad (JeM.) The Jammu and Kashmir Police officers said, “Four terrorists have been eliminated. They reportedly belong to JeM. Operation over. More details to follow.”
A joint team of Army officials, Jammu and Kashmir Police officials and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a search operation and cordoned off the area.
The security officials also recovered 3 rifles from the encounter spot.
