On Tuesday, the Kerala police arrested a priest for allegedly abusing a 10 year old girl inside a church.
The police report states the crime took place when the girl went to Church for bible lessons.
The accused has been identified as Father Devaraj (65,) from Kandanthitta CSI church. The report also stated that the priest will be produced before a magistrate today evening.
The police reported the case has been registered under POCSO (Protection of Children from Offences) Act and IPC section 376 (rape) against Father Devaraj.
According to the father of the victim, he saw the priest harassing his daughter and informed the police. The police further stated the priest was working at the church for the past year.
