K.C. Tyagi, the General Secretary of the Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)] said Lalu Prasad Yadav, the President of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is scared of Kanhaiya Kumar’s popularity in Bihar.

Mr. Tyagi, on the 29th of April, said while talking to the media, “We have sympathies for Kanhaiya despite ideological differences, He is a victim of extreme political betrayal. The left has always stood with Lalu but he did not make Kanhaiya the alliance nominee to protect Tejaswi’s throne.”

Mr. Tyagi made the comments after, Kanhaiya was not fielded as the MP candidate of the RJD from Begusarai.

The Communist Party of India (CPI,) the RJD and the Indian National Congress (INC) made an alliance in Bihar to contest against the opposition parties.

According to Mr. Tyagi, Lalu was scared of the gaining popularity of Kanhaiya in Begusarai, which could be a set back for his son, Tejaswi Yadav.

Kanhaiya Kumar is one of the famous faces in Bihar’s Begusarai and is getting increasing support from all sections of society for breaking barriers of caste and religion.

Mr. Tyagi said, Kumar was a tough competition against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the 4th phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

The Begusarai constituency contested for the Parliamentary seat in the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections. The elections for this phase is scheduled on the 29th of April, Bihar.

Bihar will contest a total of 40 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, divided into 7 phases. Out of the 40 seats, the State contested a total of 19 seats on the 11th of April, 18th of April, 23rd of April and the 29th of April, in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th phase of the elections.

The polling for the remaining 21 seats would be conducted in 3 phases, scheduled on the 6th of May, 12th of May and the 19th of May 2019.

The major parties contesting the Bihar Lok Sabha elections are the Indian National Congress (INC,) the BJP and the RJD.

The results of the Bihar Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.
