Nitin Patel, the Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat and the Finance Minister of Gujarat, on the 2nd of July, presented the Budget of Gujarat for the financial year 2019-2020.

The State allocated Rs. 10 crores for infrastructure development at the National Salt Satyagraha Memorial and Dandi March Circuit.

Rs. 510 crores will be provided for the development of Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro Phase 2 and Surat Metro Rail Project. The State will also give Rs. 6,820 crores for power subsidy to the farmers to lower the cost of agriculture.

The Government of Gujarat also allocated Rs. 1,208 crores for the construction of 1.07 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY.)

As of now, the State Government already finished the target of 1.85 lakh houses with a cost of Rs. 2,105 crores. Under the PMAY, approximately 2.04 lakh families will get their houses by 2022.

Apart from PMAY, the Mukhya Mantri Sadak Yojana will get an amount of Rs. 500 crores, whereas Rs. 4,894 crores will be reserved for the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Saheri Vikas Yojana.

The State Government announced Rs. 1,426 crores for underground drainage and water supply system. On the other hand, Rs. 922 crores will be allocated for the purification of Tapi, under the National River Conservation Programme, a joint operation between the State Government, the Central Government and the Surat Municipal Corporation.

The Gujarat Government also allocated Rs. 511 crores for lodging and boarding facilities for 1.30 lakh tribal students of 685 schools.

The State Government will provide an amount of Rs. 80 crores to provide free education, mess and hostel facilities to 15,000 girls studying in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya across Gujarat. Rs. 454 crores will be given for the construction of 5,000 classrooms in primary schools.

Apart from these, Gujarat Government allocated Rs. 500 crores for a deep sea pipeline for the treat the waste from industries across Gujarat.

Rs. 6,595 crores will be set aside for Sardar Sarovar Project and Rs. 7,157 crores for water supply schemes and many other development projects.

The State granted a total of Rs. 2,04,815 crores for the development of the different fields of the State.
