Hyderabad is all set to host the first ever FIBA (International Basketball Federation) World Tour from the 22nd of September. This is the first FIBA 3×3 World Tour to be organized by India.
Hyderabad Masters is the seventh stage of the FIBA 3X3 World Tour. The participation of the 3X3 teams are from Delhi and Bangalore. The teams were decided on the basis of the results from the inaugural season of 3X3 Basketball League (3BL.) The 3BL was held from the 9th of June to the 26th of August across six cities in India.
The members from the Delhi team are Bikramjit Gill, Leandro Souza de Lima, Inderbir Gill and Kiran Shastri. The second team from Bangalore includes Sowkin Shetty, Rajan Sharma, Amit Sehrawat and Lalrina Renthlei. The participating team will compete for a chance to qualify for the FIBA 3X3 World Tour Bloomage Beijing final which is scheduled on the 27th and 28th of October.
The event will be a two day event where international teams such as Novi Sad, Piran, Belgrade and more along with top players like Simon Finzgar, Anze Srebovt and Gasper Ovnik will play.
Chairman of 3BL Yoshiya Katoh commented on the development and said, “India is getting a chance like never before to host the FIBA 3×3 World Tour. Only nine other cities in the world have been the hosts in this edition. This is an opportunity for Indian basketball players to compete against the strongest opponents and improve their game.”
