In a horrifying incident, the Russian police are in the midst of discovering one of the most horrid cases of cannibalism.  The police made the arrests after coming across images of dismembered bodies on a phone of the prime suspect on Monday.

The case was uncovered in Krasnodar region where a 35 year old Dmitry Baksheev and his 42 year old wife Natalia, have been arrested for allegedly killing and eating 30 people over the past 20 years.

The police have been investigating and so far identified seven victims.

Earlier this month, a phone was found on the street in Krasnodar that had images of a man posing with a dismembered female victim. The police immediately began a search and found the remaining parts of the woman in a bag nearby.

When the man from the images was found and questioned he denied killing her. Instead, telling the police that he found the remains and clicked pictures with the body parts before losing his phone.

A source spoke to a news agency and informed that the details of the case are yet to be confirmed but reported that, “at the moment, law enforcement had discovered a glass jar with a canned hand.”

The source further added the accused man has admitted to two murders, one being the woman in the picture and another from 2012.

The couple managed to evade being caught for a long time. They used ether and a Russian drug called Corvalol that would make their victims fall asleep making it easier to kill them without having to put up a fight.

The locals who ever tried going into their room would have to face Natalia shouting and crying. One of the workers called her scandalous and aggressive and that’s why they never attempted to enter.

The police are testing the meat that they have found in the couples rooms and further details will be posted soon.

Cannibalism has been part of many societies all over the world.  There have been tribes that follow cannibalism as part of rituals, but the one common thing these groups have is none of them survive for long.  The Fore tribe in Papua New Guinea where almost the entire tribe was wiped out by a disease called Kuru that spreads from eating the bodies of the dead.
