On Monday, senior IPS Officer Anjani Kumar was appointed and assumed charge as the Police Commissioner for Hyderabad. Mr. Kumar will take of the duties of V. V. Srinivasa Rao.
Anjani Kumar is an IPS Officer from the 1990 batch and served as Additional DGP. He a;sp served as the Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) in Hyderabad for almost 4 years.
Mr. Kumar is a graduate from the University of Delhi and worked his way up gradually. He was awarded the President’s Police Medal for his distinguished service. Kumar was also given the Indian Police Medal for his Meritorious Service towards the police department.
Anjani Kumar worked in different places before Andhra Pradesh’s bifurcation. He was even the Chief of the elite Greyhound Unit in the Nizamabad Range.
After officially assuming charge as Hyderabad’s Commissioner Kumar met Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and DGP M. Mahender Reddy.
