On the occasion of World Environment Day, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao talked about his Haritha Haram Scheme. A press release from the Chief Minister’s Office read, “The Government of Telangana has been working with commitment to facilitate to provide a healthy environment for the present and future generations, and as part of that has been implementing the prestigious Telangana Ku Harita Haram Program to increase the green cover in the state. (sic)”
The Haritha Haram Program concentrates on increasing the green cover in the State. In the past three years, the scheme has been more than satisfactory. The Government is committed to planting trees and providing clean drinking water as the first step.
KCR conveyed his greeting at all the environment lovers on World Environment Day. The Telangana CM reemphasized the initiatives his Government has taken to conserve the environment.
The CM also stated the impacts of environmental changes are on mankind who should take action. This year the United Nations decided to concentrate on reducing plastic for the year. KCR stressed plastic may make life easier but it causes harm to the environment.
Telangana’s IT Minister K. T. Rama Rao said the State Government will soon apply a new electric vehicles policy. This policy will be applied to promote environmentally friendly transportation and reduce pollution.
On Friday, the Minister flagged off 20 electric vehicles for Municipal Corporation officials. The Government will set up the new policy to promote the use of electric vehicles.
