Twitter verification blue tick would now cost $8 per month, said Mr. Elon Musk, the new boss of the micro blogging site Twitter.
After announcing various new recommendations and changes for Twitter, including the removal of banned accounts, Mr. Elon Musk said, soon Twitter verification would be a paid thing. In a tweet, he said, “Twitter’s current lords & peasants system for who has or doesn’t have a blue checkmark is bullshit.

Reacting to this $8 monthly payment (INR 660,) many users expressed anger and security concerns. Many social media influencers and verified people on the platform said, this payment could hinder their security as anyone could pay the amount and create fake celebrities, influencers and politicians’ accounts and misuse it.
However, the backlash and criticism seemed illogical to Mr. Elon Musk, who shared another cryptic tweet for those sulking over the new $8 pay. The shared tweet read, “To all complainers, please continue complaining, but it will cost $8.”

It is to be noted after the Twitter takeover, a fee for a blue tick or verified badge is the first major change announced . Mr. Elon Musk, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Twitter, who now describes himself as a “Twitter Complaint Hotline Operator” said that the verification process for accounts is being revamped and would soon announce several other features to verified users.
In a tweet, Mr. Elon Musk said, “You will also get: Priority in replies, mentions and search, which is essential to defeat spam/scam. Ability to post long video and audio. Half as many ads. And paywall bypass for publishers willing to work with us (sic.)”
With such announcements every day, Twitter users are looking forward to new rules and policies of Twitter, after revamping by the new boss Mr. Elon Musk.
