Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, on the 11th of March, gave his speech over Delhi riots 2020.

Mr. Shah addressed the Lok Sabha and shared his view point over the Delhi riots, which killed 40 people and injured more than 200 people.

The riots started on the 24th of February over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act [CAA,] 2019.

Mr. Shah spoke about the Delhi violence at the end of the Parliament discussions and Lok Sabha.   Amit Shah said such a riot could not happen without a “well planned conspiracy.” He said according to the initial investigation hundreds of people from Uttar Pradesh were involved in the riot.   In his speech, the Union Home Minister assured strict action against all those who were responsible of the violence irrespective of caste, religion and others.

Mr. Shah said, “You guys keep saying ‘hate speech’. At Ramlila Maidan, another speech went like this: ‘Come out of your house, this is a fight to the finish. Don’t you consider this hate speech?.”

The Delhi riots was one of the deadliest riots after 1984 anti sikh riots.  The Delhi police and Special Investigation Team filed several cases and are investigating the matter.
