OYO Rooms in India has announced OYO Smart Coins (OSC) but most fans are convinced it is an April Fool’s Day Prank. OYO stated the OSC are a cryptocurrency that is ready to revolutionize the hospitality industry.
According to the hotel services company, the multipurpose cryptocurrency will ensure benefits for every member. Each OSC is priced at Rs. 999 according to the statement released by OYO.
However, many feel this is the company’s idea of an April Fool’s prank. We will not know the entire truth until the 1st of April. One of the reasons this could be a prank is the pre registration for the OSC is just 24 hours. Another suspicious thing is the company did not release a press release regarding their new cryptocurrency.
