In Uttarakhand, five police personnel from Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad were injured and a woman was killed while chasing a group of mining mafia led by wanted criminal Zafar
According to sources, the woman identified as Ms. Gurpreet Kaur, is the wife of Mr. Gurtaj Bhullar, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, was killed during a clash between the officials and the mafia. Moreover, two police officials were shot at while three were injured in other ways in a clash that broke out when a Moradabad Police team reached Uttarakhand’s Jaspur to arrest the gang including its leader Zafar.
Mr. Shalabh Mathur, the senior police official of Moradabad, said, “The accused is a wanted criminal carrying a reward of ₹ 50,000. He escaped from there (Bharatpur village). When our police team reached, they were taken hostage and their weapons were snatched.”
Based on the input to find him, the Uttar Pradesh Police launched a search operation and in the ongoing gunfight, Gurpreet Kaur died.
Meanwhile, after Gurpreet Kaur’s death, angry villagers took four policemen hostage. In addition, a murder case has also been registered against the Uttar Pradesh Police in Uttarakhand.
