Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) 4G service provider cancelled it’s tender after DoT excluded Chinese companies.

The Central Government directed the BSNL 4G service company to avoid using Chinese equipment for upgrades.

In regard to this, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) cancelled tender to upgrade government owned telecommunication companies like BSNL and Mahanagar Telecom Nagar Limited (MTNL) 4G services.

Recently, after the India-China clash, the Central Government banned the use of Chinese applications in India, including TikTok and other apps over security issues.

The Central Government also directed Indian companies to ensure the use of local products, enhancing Indian  brands.

As of now, the DoT is in consultation with private telecom service providers to encourage the use of equipment manufactured in India.

The DoT, said, “India may be the second largest producer of mobile phones, but 75% of the internal components come from China, that will make it difficult to make the sudden switch.”

Besides MTNL and BSNL, Huaweii was also due to participate in the 5G trial spectrum, which is at a proposal stage.

The ban on Chinese companies equipment and applications could affect the Indian  economy.

Meanwhile, to be a part of telecom upgradation, the BSNL and MTNL need to rework without Chinese equipment replacing it with India manufactured products.

Stay tuned for further updates.
