Faridabad Deputy Commissioner Commits Suicide

Vikram Kapoor, the Deputy Commissioner Police (DCP) of Faridabad, on the 14th of August, allegedly committed suicide in Faridabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Vikram, during the early hours of the 14th of August, shot himself with his service revolver at his residence in Police Lines, Sector 30, Faridabad.  The incident came to light when Vikram’s wife reported it to the Faridabad Police Station.

His wife said she heard gunshots and rushed to the bedroom, where Vikram was lying dead.

Kapoor is survived by his wife and two sons.

Vikram Kapoor, 59 years old, was promoted as the DCP of New Industrial Town (NIT,) Faridabad and was about to retire in 2020.  DCP Kapoor also served as the DCP (Headquarters) in Faridabad, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) (Traffic) and ACP NIT Faridabad.

The reason behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained.

Sube Singh, the Public Relation Officer (PRO) of Faridabad Police, said, “With great sadness, it is to inform you that DCP of NIT Faridabad Vikram Kapoor has shot himself dead with his service revolver at his residence in Police Lines, Sector 30, Faridabad at 6.00 am. The cause of the suicide is being investigated.”

The Faridabad Police launched an investigation regarding the case.
