Five Dead in AP After Inhaling Poisonous Gas

On Thursday, five workers died in Mogalturu town in West Godavari of Andhra Pradesh, after they inhaled poisonous gas in an aqua food processing unit. According to reports filed by the police, the five persons, between ages 21-25, were cleaning a chemical tank used for shrimp processing when they inhaled the poisonous gas that led to their death. The police said that they suspect the gas to be Ammonia.

Anand Food Processing unit is around 100 meters away from this tank near the Nallavuri Cheruvu at Mogalturu. All the five deceased belong to the nearby area and have started working at the plant in the recent past.

The AP CM Chandrababu Naidu contacted the district Collector Katamaneni Bhaskar and collected details about the incident, he also asked the Collector to take relief measures with immediate effect. N. China Rajappa, the Deputy CM of AP also directed the SP Bhaskar Bhushan and senior officials to examine the spot and submit a report about the incident.
