Keshubhai Patel, the former Chief Minister of Gujarat, passed away on the 29th of October.
Keshubhai Patel, 92 years old was admitted to a private hospital in Ahmedabad. On the morning of the 29th of October, Keshubhai Patel complained of difficulty in breathing and was taken to a hospital.
Mr. Patel was also positive for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19. He tested positive in September after one of his attendants was infected by the deadly virus.
Mr. Patel started his political career in 1945 by joining the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS.)
Later he served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 1995 and from 1998 to 2001.
He was also a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly six times.
He later quit the BJP in 2012 and founded his own political party, the Gujarat Parivartan Party.
However, in 2014, the Gujarat Parivartan Party merged with the BJP.
Mr. Patel is survived by his five sons and one daughter.
