Hours after submitting her resignation, Khushbu Sundar, the former Spokesperson of the All India Congress Committee (AICC,) joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)

On the afternoon of the 12th of October, the actress turned politician joined the BJP in Delhi.

Along with Khushbu Sundar, Madan Ravichandran, a political journalist, and former Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Saravana Kumar, also joined the BJP.

Ms. Sundar submitted her resignation to Sonia Gandhi, the interim President of the INC, today morning after she was dropped as the AICC Spokesperson.

In her resignation letter to the interim President of the Congress party, Sonia Gandhi, Ms. undar said, “Few elements seated at higher level within the party, people who’ve no connectivity with ground reality or public recognition, are dictating terms.”

The conflict between the INC and Khushbu Sundar was visible soon after she welcomed BJP’s recent National Education Policy (NEP), 2020.

In regard to this, INC Leaders from Tamil Nadu attacked her over her stance, following which she apologised to the former Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

The joining of BJP event held in Delhi was a low key affair in the wake of the Novel Coronavirus pandemic.

Only a few BJP leaders were present during the event and welcomed Ms. Khushbu Sundar.
