India Breaks Records With Biggest Spike Of 7,964 COVID-19 Cases

A day before the end of the nation wide lockdown 4.0., India recorded the biggest spike of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 infection cases in India.

On the 30th of May, the Union Health Ministry confirmed a hike of 7,964 cases in just 24 hours, taking the total cases to 1,73,763 cases till date.

This is another level of rise of the infection cases creating panic and concern amongst Indians.  Though India improved its recovery rate from 40 % to 42%, new cases coming up during the lockdown is  a new kind of danger, fearing soon India would cross 2 lakh cases of the Novel Coronavirus. 

While positive cases increased by 7,964 deaths in India increased by 265 and stood at a total of 4,971.

Out of  the new cases, the highest single day spike on the 29th of May, was recorded in  Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Assam.  While Maharashtra reported 2,682 fresh cases taking total to 62,228, Tamil Nadu registered 874 new cases, increasing total to 20,246.

Telangana and Assam reported 169 and 177 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus respectively, taking the total to 2,425 and 1,058 respectively.

Other states, which are worst affected by the Novel Coronavirus are Delhi (17,386,) Gujarat (15,944,) Rajasthan (8,365,) Madhya Pradesh (7,645) and Uttar Pradesh (7,445.)

The other states with below 5,000 cases are West Bengal (4,813,) Bihar (3,359) and  Andhra Pradesh (3,330.

India became the 9th worst COVID-19 hit nation after crossing 1.65 lakh cases on the 29th of May. 

Since the 4th lockdown is proposed to end tomorrow, the 31st of May, Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a meeting on the 29th of May.

The meeting discussed the  extension of lockdown, rules, post lockdown planning and other precautionary measures to control the spread of the Novel Coronavirus.

Mr. Modi would take a final call regarding the lockdown and is likely to announced the next step on the 30th of May.
