After reporting nearly 80,000 or below 80,000 cases of the Novel Coronavirus everyday, since the past few days, India again reported more than 85,000 new cases.
On the 1st of October, India’s daily COVID-19 case stood at 86,821 with 1,181 deaths in the past 24 hours.
The figures were updated by the Union Health Ministry of India and the data is available on the official website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)
As per the MoHFW website, India has 63,12,585 positive cases, of which 9,40,705 are active cases, 52,73,203 are recovered/discharged and 98,678 deceased.
In India, September accounted for 41.53 % of the total COVID-19 cases. Nearly 26,21,418 infections of the over 63 lakh cases were reported in the month alone.
However, India is still better than other nations and has a recovery rate of 83.54% and fatality rate 1.56%.
India is at number one position in terms of the number of recovered coronavirus cases followed by Brazil and the US, according to the Johns Hopkins University, which has been compiling COVID-19 data from all over the world.
In addition, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR,) said a total of 7,56,19,781 samples were tested till the 30th of September, including 14,23,052 samples which were tested yesterday.
Speaking about the cases in India, the Union Ministry said, the majority of new cases are being registered from five regions of India.
The five regions are Maharashtra (13, 84,446,) Andhra Pradesh (6, 93,484,) Tamil Nadu (5,97,602,) Karnataka (6,01,767,) Uttar Pradesh (3,99,082) and Delhi (2,79,715.)
