India’s Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 tally crosses 63 lakhs or 6.3 million cases till date.
On the 2nd of October, the nation recorded as many as 81,484 new cases in the past 24 hours, while 81,000 plus new cases were reported, 1,095 people died of the disease in a day.
The figures of the Novel Coronavirus were confirmed by the Union Health Ministry on the morning of the 2nd of October.
The updated data would be available on the official website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)
According to the updated data, till the 2nd of October, the total positive case of Novel Coronavirus in India stand at 6,394,068.
Of the total, India has 53,52,078 recovered/discharged cases, 9,42,317 active cases and 99,773 deaths.
The top 5 states with the highest number of the COVID-19 cases are:
Maharashtra: 14,00,922
Andhra Pradesh: 7,00,235
Karnataka: 6,11,837
Tamil Nadu: 6,03,290
Uttar Pradesh: 4,03,101
In addition, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) confirmed 10,97,947 samples tested for the Novel Coronavirus on the 1st of October.
With this, India tested a total of 7,67,17,728 samples for COVID-19 till date.
Though India is the second worst hit nation for the Novel Coronavirus, it has shown a recovery rate of 83.90 % with the highest number of recoveries in the world.
