On the 11th of September, results of the Joint Entrance Examination (Mains) 2020 were declared.

This year, approximately 24 candidates scored 100 % marks. Of the total 24 students, 8 are from Telangana, 5 are from Delhi, 4 from Rajasthan, 3 from Andhra Pradesh, 2 from Haryana, and 1 each from Gujarat and Maharashtra.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the results on the night of the 11th of September.

Usually, the JEE (Mains) are conducted in two cycles, one was held in January and the second one was supposed to be held in April.

However, this year due to the pandemic illness of the Novel Coronavirus, the NTA delayed the second cycle.

The second cycle of the JEE (Mains) 2020 was conducted in September. All the exams were finished in 6 days, from the 1st of September and till the 6th of September.

Attendance in the second cycle fell by 20 % as many registered students were unable to give the exams and missed it.

In January, 94.32 % students gave examinations, but in September only 74% students appeared for the JEE (Mains.)

Out of 8.58 lakh unique applicants, 6.35 lakh appeared for the engineering entrance test.

While 24 candidates topped the JEE (Mains) nearly 2.5 lakh candidates cleared the JEE (Mains) and are eligible to appear for the JEE (Advanced.)

JEE (Advanced) is the entrance test for admission to the 23 IITs in India. The JEE (Advanced) is scheduled on the 27th of September.

Meanwhile, another major entrance exam, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2020, is scheduled on the 13th of September.

Approximately 16 lakhs students registered for the exam.
