Kashmir Under Attack by Pakistani Militants

In the last 24 hours, terrorists have made five attacks in South Kashmir and one in North Kashmir. The attacks have left 13 security personnel injured on Tuesday evening.

Pulwama district Tral in South Kashmir was attack by terrorists who threw a grenade at a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp. A police official was quoted saying, “Nine CRPF jawan were injured in the explosion and were shifted to the 92nd Base Hospital in Srinagar.” He further added, “The area has been surrounded for searches.”

The second attack was carried out against the security personnel guarding the house of a retired high court judge. The terrorists opened fire at the guards outside the residence located at Anchidora in Anantnag district. The attack left two of the policemen injured, the attackers robbed four of the service weapons before fleeing from the area.

The third attack happened at a CRPF camp at Padgampora in Pulwama but fortunately no one was injured. The grenade the militants threw at the camp exploded mid air. The militants even threw a grenade at the Pulwana police station that caused minor injuries to one police man.

Another attack was carried out on Monday which resulted in two soldiers getting injured. The police sent out intel to all the soldiers to stay on high alert as another attack was expected on Tuesday.

The security personnel were on guard to avoid a mass attack from the militants. An army officer was reported saying,”We are prepared for any eventuality. We will not allow a repeat of the Uri attack.” The Uri attack killed 19 soldiers last year.
