Ms. Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister (CM) of West Bengal is expected to meet PM Narendra Modi, on the 24th of November.
Scheduled in New Delhi, during the meeting, the West Bengal CM would discuss the Border Security Force (BSF) issue and development of the State.
It is to be noted, the Central Government was allowed to extend the jurisdiction for the BSF to conduct searches and arrest to 50 km within the State borders. Previously the permission to conduct arrests and searches without allowing search and arrests without interference of the State Government and the Central Government was until 15 km from the border. Besides West Bengal, the jurisdiction area of the BSF was extended in Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana as well.
The Trinamool Congress President Ms. Mamata Banerjee is opposing the decision and sought an appointment to meet Mr. Narendra Modi, the PM of India. During the meeting today, the West Bengal CM would also discuss the growth and development of the State.
It is known that Ms. Mamata Banerjee has been in Delhi since the 22nd of November, Monday and is scheduled to return to West Bengal on the 25th of November.
