MoS of Railways Suresh Angadi Dies Of COVID-19, Last Rites To Be Held At 4 PM

Suresh Angadi, the Minister of State (MoS) for Railways, passed away on the night of the 23rd of September.

Mr. Angadi took his last breath at 8:00 P.M., on the 23rd of September. 

Suresh Angadi, 65 years old, died at the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS,) New Delhi Trauma Centre while undergoing treatment for the Novel Coronavirus. AIIMS, New Delhi Trauma Centre has been converted to the COVID-19 treatment centre.

Mr. Angadi was diagnosed positive for the deadly COVID-19 infection.

Doctors at AIIMS said, “He was admitted to the hospital after testing positive for Covid-19. Initially, his condition was stable. It deteriorated suddenly on Monday evening and we couldn’t save him despite our best efforts.”

Mr. Suresh is the first member of the Union Cabinet who died due to the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered his condolences through Twitter.

He posted a picture of Suresh Angadi and said, “Shri Suresh Angadi was an exceptional Karyakarta, who worked hard to make the Party strong in Karnataka. He was a dedicated MP and effective Minister, admired across the spectrum. His demise is saddening. My thoughts are with his family and friends in this sad hour. Om Shanti.”

Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said, “Words fail me at this time, he was an absolutely wonderful human being. It is a deep personal loss for me. He was elder to me, he always guided & supported me. Under his leadership, Indian railways was taking many new dimensions.”

Besides PM Modi, Piyush Goyal and many Union Cabinet ministers, politicians poured their condolences and expressed grief over the demise of Mr. Suresh Angedi.

Suresh Angedi is survived by his wife Ms. Mangala and two daughters.

The last rites of Suresh Angedi is scheduled to be held on the 24th of September. The funeral ceremony of Mr. Suresh would be held at Lodhi Road Crematorium at 4:00 P.M.
