Let’s celebrate Pi Day with a few amazing facts about the mathematical symbol. Today is the 30th Anniversary of the Pi Day to celebrate the mathematical constant. Pi (Greek letter “π”) is a symbol to represent a constant that is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter which is approximately 3.14159. 265. 

Here are the amazing facts about Pi:

1. Pilish is a dialect created by literary nerds representing the calculation of Pi. For example: Can I pass a train unpuzzled by shazam, right? The dialect is to form sentences passed on the calculation of Pi. As Pi is 3.14159265….. The first word is three letters, the second has one letter and so on.    

2. Pi is considered the most important in the world of mathematics. It is also one of the first things taught to students in school.

3. The computer struggles with computing Pi which made a good joke in a Star Trek episode. In the episode “Wolf in the Fold” Spock ruins the evil computer’s plan by giving it the command to compute to last digit the value of Pi.   

4. Mathematically speaking the circumference or area of a circle can never be truly measured because of the value of Pi. Pi is considered an irrational number meaning its digits go on forever in a random sequence.

5. The symbol of Pi is the Greek alphabet π (piwas) which is the 16th letter in the language. It translates to the letter ‘P’ in English which is also the 16th alphabet.

6. Pi has been used in the weirdest places like O. J. Simpson’s trial. Simpson’s defense attorney attempted to point out the low intellect of the FBI agent by questioning him about the value of Pi.

7. The 14th of March was selected as the day for Pi as the date reads 3/14 making the first three digits of Pi. Another amazing thing to happen on the day was genius Albert Einstein was born on the same day.
