PM Modi Pays Tribute To Mahatma Gandhi On His Death Anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the 30th of January, paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, on the latter’s death anniversary.

On the 30th of January, 1948, Nathuram Godse assassinated Mahatma Gandhi.   

Mahatma Gandhi was one of the freedom fighters of India known for his non violent approach.

The 30th of January is the death anniversary of Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi, also known as Bapu.  This day is also celebrated as Martyr’s Day.

On the occasion, PM Modi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and said, “A tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary. The ideals of Bapu will continue to inspire us to build a strong, capable and prosperous New India.”

Prime Minister Modi, along with Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, visited Rajghat, Delhi and paid tribute.

Union ministers like Rajnath Singh, Piyush Goyal, Nirmala Sitharaman and others also paid their respects to Mahatma Gandhi.

Left wing leaders like Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi also paid their respects.

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, also took to Twitter and remembered the words of Mahatma Gandhi.  Mr. Kejriwal posted, “The relevance of his concepts of education, health, sanitation, harmony, brotherhood and swaraj remains intact in the lives of all of us even today. A great tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary.”
