Many political leaders, parties and celebrities reacted to the Supreme Court’s verdict on the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi land dispute case.
On the 9th of November, a bench of 5 SC judges, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi, announced its verdict in favour of the Hindus, with a few conditions. The SC also said an alternate piece of land, measuring 5 acres, would be given to the Muslims in Ayodhya.
According to the judgement, the Central Government can now build a Ram Mandir on the land which is believed to be the spot where Lord Ram was born.
Danyal Gilani, Sunil Deodhar, Abhijit Majumder, Randeep Surjewala, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chandrababu Naidu, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and others took to Twitter and posted about the Ayodhya verdict with #Ayodhya, #RamMandir and #AyodhyaVerdict.
Twitter users also shared their happiness after the SC pronounced the judgement.
#BabriMasjid is also trending, with members of the Muslim community sharing their opinions about the Supreme Court’s judgement.
